Residential Opportunities
At St Aloysius we believe that all children should experience a residential trip. It is these trips that become the everlasting memories from school and the ones they tell stories about when they are older. Residential trips provide opportunity for our children to take part in a range of activities that develop their character and provide opportunities for them to grow and experience moments of awe and wonder.
Plas Caerdeon
‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us’
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
In year 5 our children visit Plas Caerdeon in Barmouth, which is part of Liverpool Hope University. Children take part in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities, for example rock climbing, kayaking and mountain adventures. The children learn new skills and develop their resilience, perseverance and determination.
Our activities at Plas Caerdeon are led by experts who along with school staff support the children as they try new and exciting activities. We normally take part in this trip at the beginning of the Autumn Term.

London
‘Every persons ability may be strengthened or increased by culture’
– John Abbot
In Year 6 our children visit London to experience the sights and sounds of our capital city. We travel by train from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston and use the tube network while we are there. We stay in the Earls Court Premier Inn and enjoy the hotel experience.
We arrange a visit to the Houses of Parliament to see our democratic process in action. We get to see the House of Commons and the House of Lords and witness parliamentary debates. For many of our children this is the hi-light of the trip.
A trip to London would not be complete without a visit to a West End Show and a cruise on the River Thames and trip on the London Eye.
This trip is a fabulous experience for our children as they get to walk around London and see Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and lots more.
Please see our gallery below to see the wonderful things we get to see and do in London.
